Blaise's Story

Meet Blaise

Blaise is a 3-year-old pit mix with the gentlest soul you could ever meet — and at 43 lbs, she’s the perfect medium size. She is truly one of those once-in-a-lifetime dogs: incredibly sweet, deeply loving, and overflowing with affection. Blaise absolutely adores people and loves everyone she meets. If given the chance, she will happily shower you with endless kisses, greet you with a big smile, a very happy tail that wags like a whip, and the cutest wiggle-butts. It’s honestly amazing how much love this girl has to give after everything she’s been through.

One of Blaise’s favorite ways to show affection is something we lovingly call “corn-cobbing” — gentle little nibbles on you when she’s feeling extra happy and connected. It’s completely affectionate and absolutely adorable, and just another reminder of how deeply she bonds with her people.

Blaise has a very gentle, sensitive, and submissive nature. She does not have a mean bone in her body and is completely non-confrontational. When situations feel overwhelming, she simply becomes quiet and looks to her people for reassurance. She is all heart and would thrive in a calm, kind, and patient home where she can continue to feel safe and loved.

Blaise came to us after surviving a heartbreaking situation. She had been neglected and kept outside in a yard with other dogs who repeatedly picked on her. Because she is so gentle, she was often the one who took the brunt of it. The number of scars covering her body is truly unbelievable — it brought us to tears the first time we saw her.
She was surrendered after trying to escape the yard and suffering a severe laceration to her armpit from a fence. When our vet asked if we would take her, we met her and instantly melted — it was an absolute yes. After three surgeries to repair that injury (in one of the worst possible spots) and time to heal from her other wounds, Blaise is now happy, healthy, and thriving.

Today, Blaise is being fostered with several other dogs and does wonderfully with them. She truly loves other dogs and people alike and approaches everyone with a soft heart and gentle demeanor.

Blaise has the perfect energy level. She’s always down for an adventure — walks, outings, and fun days with her person — but she’s just as happy to curl up and enjoy the best snuggle sessions of your life. She is crate trained, potty trained, and wonderful on leash.

Blaise is the kind of dog who will love you with her whole heart and soul. She has been through so much and still chooses love every single day. She deserves a home where she will finally be cherished, protected, and shown the kindness she has always given so freely.
If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle, affectionate companion with a heart of gold — Blaise is your girl
