Blair (Billie)'s Story

THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TEXAS. THEIR ADOPTION DONATION IS $575 AND INCLUDES TRANSPORT. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO, AS IT CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT OUR ADOPTION AND SCREENING PROCESS.

Our process begins with an application. If we believe it may be a good match, we will reach out to schedule a phone interview, followed by a video call with the foster home. A virtual home visit, along with personal and veterinary reference checks, are required to complete the adoption process. Once approved, the dog will be placed on the next available transport, which runs every few weeks and is included in the adoption donation. If you are not able to welcome a dog until a later date, please wait to apply until that time.

We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to help these dogs find homes. If you are not serious about moving forward with the adoption process, please do not apply. If other people in your household are part of the decision, please make sure they are fully on board before submitting an application. This helps ensure we respect everyone’s time.

___

Meet Blair — aka Billie, as she’s lovingly called — a big personality packed into one very cute, black-and-white puppy. At 16 weeks old, this Lab/Pit mix is being fostered in Austin, Texas and is expected to grow into a large dog. She’s the kind of puppy who seems to have woken up one day and decided fear just wasn’t for her — bold, curious, sweet, and completely convinced everyone is her friend.

Blair (Billie) is available for adoption out-of-state. Transport can be arranged for approved adopters and is included in the adoption donation. Our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we’ll reach out to coordinate a phone interview, followed by a video call with her foster home. A virtual home visit, along with personal and vet reference checks, are required to complete the process.

Blair and her siblings came into rescue dealing with a skin condition that caused some hair loss, but they’ve fully recovered and are now just in the healing phase while their coats grow back in. It doesn’t slow her down one bit — she’s far too busy exploring everything in sight — and her coat should fill back in beautifully in no time.

Billie is curious, playful, and always the first to investigate something new. If there’s an adventure happening, she’s already there. She earned her nickname because she climbs and jumps off things like a tiny billy goat, fully committed to whatever mission she’s decided is important that day. She loves to play, loves to “talk” to you, and is happiest when she’s by your side as your little walking buddy and loyal sidekick. We can totally picture her growing into one of those true BFF dogs who just wants to be included in whatever life is bringing next.

She’s fantastic with other dogs and has a playful, enthusiastic style that keeps things lively — she currently lives with a seven-year-old Golden Retriever who she plays with all the time. She hasn’t been around cats or children yet, but she would likely do well with respectful kids who understand puppy energy and boundaries.

Billie is also incredibly smart and already ahead of the curve for her age. She comes when called, sits on command (and happily for treats), and has a soft mouth when taking food. She’s about 80% potty trained and will even let you know when she needs to go if she’s in her playpen or kennel. She’s comfortable in a crate for short periods and has had about nine consecutive nights with no accidents, sleeping from 9 PM to 5:30 AM in an open playpen — which is pretty impressive for a young puppy.

She’s also doing well on leash and building confidence more every day. Like any puppy, she’ll still need continued structure, guidance, and consistency as she grows, but she’s off to an amazing start.

One of her favorite hobbies is watching TV, happily sitting there like she’s fully invested in whatever’s on the screen. She’s the kind of puppy who will keep you laughing, smiling, and feeling loved every single day.

Because she’s still young and learning, Blair will do best in a home where someone is around more often than not to guide her, engage her, and help channel her big personality into becoming a well-rounded adult dog.

Blair is expected to grow into a large dog and will need a family ready to embrace her bold, adventurous spirit and keep up with all the fun she brings.

If you’re looking for a brave, hilarious, loving puppy with a huge personality and an even bigger heart, Blair (Billie) is ready to make your life a whole lot more fun.
___

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***

Interested in applying to adopt?
