Her world was small, unfamiliar, and overwhelming—and her recovery has been slow, but meaningful. She has come as far as she can with us, and now she needs something more... a home.<br/><br/>A very special home.<br/><br/>Blackie is not a “typical” adoption. She is a heart project.<br/><br/>She will need a person who understands that what she needs right now is socialization, not training. Someone who knows how to let a dog set the pace. Someone who understands that trust is earned, not forced. The good news? Once you gain that trust—and we truly believe you will—she is going to blossom.<br/><br/> What Blackie Needs:<br/><br/><br/> A calm, patient home willing to go at her pace<br/> An experienced adopter familiar with shy or undersocialized dogs<br/> Slow, thoughtful introductions to any resident dogs (she may do well with the right match)<br/> No cats or young children (fast movements are still very scary for her)<br/><br/><br/>Blackie cannot be cornered, rushed, or pushed.
