Black Jack's Story

Black Jack was brought in by the city after his owners could no longer care for him. Now, he is very loving, smart, cuddly, and just overall happy to be with us! He loves treats, pets, and giving kisses! He is a clever guy and will need someone who is willing to give him the time he needs to open up, but once he does, he will be your best friend and closest companion! Jack has had a very interesting time since coming in just a couple weeks ago. Read below to find out just how scared he was in the beginning.
Jacks first few days with us, he was very scared, and then the unthinkable happened; Black Jack escaped from one of our outside play pens and bolted in fear. For an entire week, Jack was in survival mode, running from those who tried to help him and coming back to the shelter overnight for a warm place to sleep and some food. Finally, he decided he was ready to come back to us and wearily walked back to the safety of his kennel. His belly is full again and he is safe and cool in the shelter, and for that, we are so grateful!

Black Jack is guessed to be a terrier mix of some sort. He is small, weighing about 15lbs! He has black/tan/white wiry hair and we think he is around 2-3 years old!

Every dog adopted from Green Hills Animal Shelter is fixed, wormed, has age-appropriate vaccinations, and is tested for heartworm (if old enough). Dogs from GHAS will also come with a starter bag of Hills Science Diet dog/puppy food to get you started!
