BJ $200's Story
BJ is a sweet, gentle 2–3 year old mixed breed girl weighing about 52 pounds. She’s the perfect blend of playful energy and snuggly affection — the kind of dog who brightens your day with joyful zoomies and ends your night curled up beside you.

Home Life
BJ can be a little shy at first, but she settled beautifully into her foster home. She’s fully potty trained, well-mannered, and doesn’t need a crate. She’ll sleep wherever you ask her to, though she’ll never turn down a cozy cuddle in bed. When left alone — either solo or with another dog — she stays calm and relaxed.
She’s also an excellent little watchdog. If she barks, it’s only to let you know someone is approaching. Her hearing is impressive.

Personality & Play
BJ is dog-friendly with slow, structured introductions. Quick or chaotic greetings can overwhelm her, but with a calm approach, she does wonderfully. She enjoys having a fenced yard to explore, sniff, and play in, and she loves romping around with the resident dog.
She has a youthful, puppy-like spirit — bursts of running and zoomies followed by peaceful lounging. She enjoys balls, toys, and hard chews, and she takes treats with the gentlest little mouth.

With People
BJ is a total lovebug who forms deep bonds once she feels safe. She needs a bit of time and a calm introduction with new people, but once she trusts, she’s all affection, cuddles, and closeness.
She’s working on keeping “four on the floor” during greetings and is making great progress.

Ideal Home
BJ would thrive in a home with a calm, friendly dog, but she’d also be perfectly happy as the center of someone’s world. She has already started obedience training to build her confidence, and her adopter should plan to continue positive, structured training to help her keep growing.
Because she can get excited and occasionally jump when greeting, she’s best suited for a home without young children. Adults and older kids who appreciate her playful, tender spirit will absolutely adore her.

BJ is affectionate, loyal, and eager to please — ready to bring joy, companionship, and endless snuggles to her forever family.

BJ is ready to love big. Could she be the perfect match for you?

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$375+tax for ages 4-7
$275+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs.
