Birdie's Story

Meet Birdie, a 3-year-old Heeler mix who has come a LONG way since the timid little girl who first walked through our doors.

That scared Birdie? She doesn't live here anymore.

Today, Birdie is an incredibly sweet, affectionate girl who loves attention and being with people. She's discovered that humans are pretty great, couches are even better, and life outside of a shelter kennel is definitely something she'd like more of.

Birdie recently went on a day trip where she jumped right onto the couch like she owned it, ran at the dog park, met new friends, and showed us just how easily she settles into life outside the shelter.

She is also great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends.

Birdie has such a gentle, loving personality and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a sweet girl to share life with. She's past the tiny-puppy stage but still young enough for plenty of adventures.

Birdie is ready for a home.

She has already done the hard part, learning that the world can be a pretty good place.

Now she just needs someone to show her what it's like to have a family of her own.
