Birdie's Story
Adoption Fee: $275.00

Thank you for choosing to adopt or foster and aid in the rescue efforts of RARE!

**Adoption Interest Form REQUIRED via our website Rarerescue.org**

Birdie is a beautiful brown brindle mix believed to be 2-3 years old and the perfect medium-sized companion. With her bright mind and loving personality, Birdie is the kind of dog who quickly becomes part of the family.

Birdie is incredibly smart and a quick learner. She has a playful spirit and loves running around, playing with toys, chewing on bones, and going for walks. She’s also always happy to hop in the car for a ride. After a day of fun, Birdie is just as content soaking up belly rubs, cuddles, and kisses from her favorite people.

She is potty trained and settles nicely into her kennel in the evenings. Birdie thrives on companionship and would love a home where she can spend time with people who enjoy an active, affectionate dog.

Birdie’s story began as a neighborhood stray, where she was found caring for four puppies on her own. A kind local family took her in and fostered her, giving her the safety and care she deserved, even made sure she was spayed at appropriate time after recovery. During that time, she became a beloved part of the neighborhood - even waiting at the bus stop each day to greet the kids when they came home from school.

Her finder says that Birdie has been dog selective; she is good with one of her dogs, but not the other. We would be involved with any introductions with resident dogs to ensure a good match. She would also do wonderfully as an only dog.

Now Birdie is ready for the next chapter of her life: a forever home where she can receive the love, attention, and stability she deserves. She would make a loyal, joyful companion for someone willing to give her that chance.

STEPS TO ADOPT:

Read the adoptable’s bio below, including their adoption fee

Go to RARErescue.org and Read our ADOPTION PROCESS page under the "Adopt" section

Complete the DOG ADOPTION INTEREST FORM (located on our website RARErescue.org)

We understand that it is important to you to find the right fit for your family. We feel the same way! The DOG ADOPTION INTEREST FORM is important and REQUIRED for this reason.

All of our Adoptables are:

Spayed/neutered; Up to date on vaccines; Heartworm tested if six months or older (& kept on heartworm preventative and treated for heartworms if positive when entering our program): Microchipped prior to adoption

BREEDS: We are not breed experts. The breed(s) listed for each adoptable are best guesses or suggestions.

PLEASE NOTE: We are a non-profit organization without municipal or government funding. Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption.

Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care. As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property.

***If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance and local adaptability. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 1.5 hours driving distance.
