Birdie's Story

Birdie is a beautiful three-year-old, 84-pound Labrador mix with a stunning ginger coat. Shes a gentle girl who has weathered more change than any dog should have to endure.

As a puppy, Birdie and her siblings were found as strays and rescued by Help a Dog Smile. While all the puppies found homes, Birdies journey took an unexpected turn when major lifestyle changes forced her family to return her. Because the rescue operates through foster homes, Birdie was placed in a boarding facility, where the busy environment proved overwhelming. Without the compassionate guidance she needed, she struggled with stress.

Fortunately, one person saw the wonderful dog behind the circumstances. Our trainer worked with Birdie and quickly recognized that she wasnt a problem dog at all, she was simply a good dog in need of understanding and patience. He recommended bringing her to Home Fur Good, and Birdie has thrived ever since.

She has been an absolute joy in our care. Birdie walks nicely on a leash, enjoys playing with toys, knows her basic commands, and melts for belly rubs. Our kennel technicians consistently describe her as sweet and affectionate. She is also very dog-friendly and would likely enjoy sharing her home with a canine companion.

Birdies adoption fee of $250 includes spay surgery, vaccinations, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital.

To meet Birdie, please call 602-971-1334 to schedule an appointment. You can also visit Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during our walk-in hours. Birdie is ready to leave her difficult past behind and start the happy chapter she deserves.
