Birdie's Story

Meet Birdie!

Birdie is a 15-pound long-haired Chihuahua with the CUTEST little underbite. She spent the last 3 years living in a home, so she already knows how to be a great house dog — she's potty trained, uses the dog door like a pro, and settles into a routine very easily.

Birdie can be a little anxious around new people at first and usually needs some time to warm up. But once she realizes you're a friend, she turns into the sweetest little shadow — following you around the house, cuddling on the couch, and happily asking for pets.

She does have a tiny high-pitched bark when strangers walk by, but she's just trying to keep her people safe! Overall, she's super easygoing and gets along GREAT with the resident dogs in her foster home.

Birdie also loves her daily walks and is an excellent leash walker. A nice 1-mile morning walk usually tires her out for the rest of the day.

Because of her anxiety, Birdie would probably do best in a calmer home without very young children. With a little patience and love, she becomes an incredibly loyal and affectionate companion.
