Meet Billie! Billie is a 10 year old spayed female Blue Heeler mix.<br/>This poor girl has had such a rough year. She is here through no fault of her own due to her owner passing away, and unfortunately he had no family that could keep her long-term. She was very loved by him, and obviously very spoiled, and she deserves a home that will continue to cherish her in that same way!<br/>Billie has had quite the full history! She spent her earlier years up in Iowa hanging out with some cattle, and more recently she's been helping to guard her owner's flock of chickens. While she's getting up there in years so she's not quite as active as she used to be, she still loves to trot around the yard and pretend like she can catch all the squirrels she sees!<br/>Billie has lived with two cats previously and did great with them. She's also spent time around livestock and had no issues with them, wither. She has not lived with other dogs so we aren't sure how she'd feel about a canine companion. She's had no issues with other dogs when they pass by her kennel at the shelter so we do think she could do okay with another dog in the home, but we do recommend a meet and greet prior to adoption to make sure it's a good match! Billie also might do best in a home with no small kids. In her previous home there were some instances of young children pushing her boundaries and pulling on her ears because they were too young to know better, and Billie was definitely not a fan. Any children should be supervised around Billie to make sure they aren't accidentally hurting her, even if they're just trying to play.<br/>Now, don't tell Billie we said this, but she is a bit more round than we would like to see (okay, maybe a lot more round!). Like we said, she was very spoiled by her last owner, and those extra treats led to her putting on some extra pounds. For her health, her owner will need to help her get plenty of exercise and get that weight down a bit more.<br/>Billie is housebroken, and she is up to date on all of her vaccinations. We're hoping she doesn't have to wait too long for her perfect home, as she's too sweet to sit here waiting! If you think Billie could be the girl for you, come out and meet her today!
