BILBO WAGZ IS URGENT!<br/>Entry: Stray<br/>Has been treated for heartworms.<br/><br/>Bilbo Wagz is available for adoption and ready to leave shelter life behind. This handsome young guy arrived as a stray in January with wounds around his neck, possibly from an old collar, but despite that rough start, Bilbo has remained incredibly friendly and loving. Bilbo is around 3 years old, walks nicely on a leash and enjoys spending time with his person.<br/>Bilbo has participated in play groups with lots of other dogs and gets along nicely with everyone he meets. Volunteers describe him as handsome, well-mannered, sweet, and easy to spend time with. Still just a young dog, Bilbo has so much life and love ahead of him and would thrive in a home of his own.<br/><br/><br/>8/1 Update: Bilbo enjoyed a weekend pajama party...<br/>Bilbo was cooperative during his grooming and bath. He really seemed to enjoy being brushed, his fur is so soft and shiny. <br/>Energy level since coming home has been medium/low, he just needs to be with people and in a calm environment. He has been very chill over the weekend, spending a large portion of his day snoozing at my feet. He has not tried to get on the furniture. <br/>Leash walking - We went for a walk on the rail trail and Bilbo is more of a stroll and sniff walking buddy. He is a strong dog and can pull a little but he likes to take his time and check all the pee mail. He was not bothered by the squirrels along the path. <br/>He explored the big back yard when he first arrived but since then he has stuck pretty close to the house so I think he would be ok with a smaller yard/space or perhaps even with leash walking only. He is 3-5 years - more settled/less youthful. <br/>He has been quiet. He has done well crated overnight and when I had to leave the house during the day. He is a polite car rider. <br/>Still working on housebreaking. He has had no accidents in crate.<br/>Likes stuffed toys but a bit scared of the squeakers <br/>Food/treat motivated and very loving. Velcro dog potential = high. Wants to be near his person.
