Big Bertha's Story

Hi, I’m Big Bertha, and I’m looking for a loving forever home! I may have some medical needs, but I’m hoping to find someone with a big heart who is willing to give me the chance I deserve. I’ve already had lots of testing done, including imaging and urine tests, and everything has come back normal. However, I still have blood in my urine, and unfortunately, this is expected to continue. At this point, we suspect the bleeding may be coming from one or both of my kidneys, but further specialized testing is needed to confirm this. To get answers, I will need to be seen at VCA Midwest in Omaha for a specialist consultation and a referral procedure to help diagnose the source of the bleeding. The initial consultation, which costs approximately $300, is REQUIRED. Any additional testing or procedures are not required for adoption but are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to help determine what is going on and what treatment options may be available. Depending on what needs to be done, additional veterinary costs could be upwards of $5,000. My future family should be prepared for the possibility of ongoing medical care and expenses, but I hope someone will look beyond my medical needs and see a girl who deserves a loving home just like anyone else. If you think you could be the person to give me a chance, please reach out to learn more about adopting me.
