Bianca's Story

Meet Bianca: A Little Survivor Ready for Her Happily Ever After

Some dogs have a way of stealing your heart before you've even met them. Bianca is one of those dogs.

At just 2 years old and 13 pounds, this beautiful cream-colored girl has already lived through more than any dog ever should. Found alone in the mountains of Mexico, Bianca was heavily pregnant, battling a serious tick-borne illness (which has since been treated), and doing everything she could to survive. Despite receiving medical care, heartbreakingly, none of her six puppies made it. Her rescuers also discovered a small BB pellet lodged in her leg — a reminder of a past we're determined to make sure she never has to experience again.

But here's the beautiful thing about Bianca: her story isn't over. In fact, the best part is just beginning.

Underneath that heartbreaking history is a sweet, gentle little soul who is slowly discovering what it means to feel safe and loved. Bianca can be shy when meeting new people, but give her a little time and you'll discover a curious, quietly affectionate girl who loves nothing more than following her humans around the house before curling up somewhere cozy nearby. Bonus points if you enjoy the sound of an adorable little dog snoring away in complete contentment.

Bianca is also a wonderfully independent little lady! She's happy to entertain herself, isn't destructive when left alone, and even has her own very charming way of communicating — a tiny grumble to let you know it's time for dinner or a bathroom break. A girl who knows what she wants!

Given everything she's endured, Bianca is still learning that the world is a safe place. She appreciates slow introductions, can be protective of her personal space, and finds the hustle and bustle of city streets a little overwhelming. Leash walking is still a work in progress, and she'd much prefer the freedom of a backyard where she can take care of business at her own pace. She's also shown a lovely, playful side with other dogs in foster care when she's feeling comfortable.

Bianca's dream home? Somewhere peaceful, with a patient, loving human who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. A home with a yard would be especially wonderful, along with someone willing to help her continue building confidence and discovering all the good things life has to offer.

Bianca is scheduled to be spayed on October 28th, another important step as she gets ready for her next chapter!

Bianca doesn't need someone to feel sorry for her. She needs someone to see the incredible little dog she's becoming.

She's survived the hardest chapter of her life. Now she deserves a soft bed, a safe home, and a lifetime of being someone's whole world.

Could you be Bianca's happily ever after?

Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Bianca will need to be spayed upon arrival.

To apply for Bianca, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.

Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org
