Bhoot's Story

Bhoot is a 1-year-old Pit Bull mix who is looking for someone willing to give her the chance she's never truly had.

Her story has been a difficult one. After her owner was incarcerated, Bhoot entered animal control. We pulled her with the hope that she had found a new home, only to receive a heartbreaking call a month later that she had been surrendered to another shelter and placed on their euthanasia list. Thankfully, we had microchipped her during the brief time she was in our care, which allowed her to find her way back to us.

Since returning, we've learned more about Bhoot and the challenges she faces. Bhoot is deaf and relies heavily on visual communication, routine, and trust. She is also not a fan of other animals and will need to be the only pet in her home.

While those challenges are real, they don't tell the whole story.

Bhoot is incredibly loving with people. Once she trusts you, she is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when spending time with her humans. She enjoys attention, loves being close to her people, and has a sweet, goofy personality that shines when she's comfortable.

Unfortunately, shelter life has been very difficult for her. The constant noise, activity, and stress have taken a toll on this young dog, and it's becoming increasingly clear that what she needs most is a home environment where she can finally relax and feel secure.

Bhoot is looking for an experienced, patient adopter who understands that some dogs need a little extra support. She will need a home committed to helping her continue learning, building confidence, and navigating the world as a deaf dog.

She may not be the easiest dog in the shelter, but she may be one of the most deserving. Bhoot has been given second chances before. Now she's hoping for the one that lasts forever.
