Betty White's Story

Betty White is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet her, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.

Hello! I’m named after the famous Betty White, who was such a great advocate for animals; well, also because of my gorgeous white coat!

Here’s me in a nutshell: dignified, regal, majestic, with a dose of sensitivity thrown in. For instance I will not step in mud, or puddles for that matter. I love humans (especially men) and am very affectionate.

I think I am around 3 years old, and I know exactly where to do my business; when I hear the word “outside”, I get to go into the yard! I love sunbathing and doing a bit of exploring. I would rather not be crated, and I don’t interact with toys, but I can spend hours with this thing called string cheese! Trying to get every morsel of that yummy treat out of a hollow object is such a challenge! I take treats very gently from human hands, and I have great manners on walks; I never pull. Why rush? Inside I can get a little snoopy with anything at my level, just saying.

Sometimes I can become alarmed by things like having my feet wiped with a towel, being asked to enter cars and new spaces. I am looking for a home with humans who understand that, while outwardly I look calm, cool and collected, sometimes inwardly I can be a little marshmallow. Can you help me boost my confidence? I’m game; let’s do it!

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!
