Betty Cocker's Story
My name is Betty Cocker and I’m an adorable Cocker Spaniel looking for a loving home just as special as I am! My life before WAAL was scary and painful. I was born blind, was severely neglected, attacked by other dogs, and left with an open wound and infections. Since getting much-needed veterinary care and lots of TLC, I’m healed and ready for my forever home! It takes time for me to trust new people, so my new family will need to be patient as I learn they’re my friends. Once I figure that out that, my loving heart and goofy personality will shine! I love sitting on a lap, chewing a dog bone, and having someone talk to and tell me what a good girl I am! Scratches and belly rubs will sometimes make me literally squeal with joy. Even though I can’t see, I enjoy helping in the garden and running around the yard finding new smells. I am food motivated, which helps a lot with training! I am crate trained and doing well on potty training and do best in a quiet home without kids and few to no stairs. I am not a fan of other dogs, so I’ll need to be the only dog in the household. To help me relax, I’ll need Trazadone or something similar for vet visits. At home I do just fine! I may have some special needs, but I also have so much love and devotion to offer. To meet me, fill out an application at waalrescue.org/adopt. ...
