Betty Boop's Story
Betty Boop
8 years, 13lbs
Rescued in the southwest with her dog siblings after their owner passed

Meet Betty Boop (aka Betty Spaghetti)! This 8-year-old, 13-pound sweetheart is calm, sweet, and well-mannered, with low energy and a wonderfully easygoing nature — she's a bit nervous in new situations at first but settles in quickly. She's good with adults and new people (kids are still unknown territory) and gets along fine with calm dogs, though high-energy dogs tend to unsettle her. She's fully potty and crate trained, knows sit and stay, and is still working on her leash skills — she's clearly walked on a leash before, just maybe not the kind used in busy NYC sidewalks, and she's learning proper city walking etiquette one outing at a time. She stays relaxed on the sofa whether left alone or when guests stop by, and she's never once been heard to bark or growl.

Betty has served as her foster's dog's emotional support companion, and it shows — she's a calm, steady presence who thrives most when she can simply relax near her people. Her needs are wonderfully minimal: she enjoys walks but needs a little prompting to get going, and otherwise she's all about cuddling, eating, and holding down her favorite spot on the couch. She'd do best as an only dog or alongside another calm, mellow companion, and she's a perfect match for apartment living in a moderate-to-calm household — ideal for a first-time owner easing into dog ownership or an experienced one looking for a low-key companion, whether you work from home or head into the office. Her foster describes her as a quiet little princess who made herself at home almost instantly, with the settled, gentle demeanor of a dog who's clearly been someone's beloved companion before. Betty is ready to be that again.

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt Betty Boop, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt@truenorthrescue.org to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE. IF THIS LISTING IS UP, THE DOG IS NOT ADOPTED YET.

Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!
