Betty

Betty is about 10 years old and a female shih tzu, soon to be spayed. She came in with a severe UTI and double eye infections. She does not see well but can still hear. She was seized from a pretty deplorable life situation and we are still, after dozens of baths, working to get the stain and smell from her fur. We continue to treat her eyes and she may need eye drops for the rest of her life. Despite her sad past, she misses her owners and is still adjusting to her new surroundings so we work to comfort and snuggle her as best we can. She is a laid back girl, always ready for a nap but likes to be near her humans. She likes to go for short walks but walks very slowly and I often carry her outside. She is able to maneuver a few steps but probably not a full flight. She has done well with other dogs in the home, pretty much ignoring them. She is still working on her housebreaking routine and uses a pee pad and has an occasional accident.
