Betty's Story

February update-Betty’s crazy ears look like they are going to stand up! Follow us on our Bully Smiles Facebook page for more pictures.

Betty is a 3 month old female German Shepherd and Pit Bull mix. She recently left her mother and siblings and came to us. She is a very happy girl who loves to be loved!! She came to us along with her sister Rose, and while they have made tremendous progress, it’s obvious that they aren’t sure how to accept affection. They are a little shy at first, though they warm up well and are learning to be adored.

She will be ready for adoption around February 5th, and will have been spayed, microchipped, and brought current on all vaccines (complete vaccine series for 1 year) as well as flea/tick/heart worm prevention medication.

Right now she loves to cuddle up in her crate and take long naps. She is still very young and spends the majority of her time sleeping, though we know that won’t last much longer!

For the majority she is a pretty laid back girl who will gladly be a snuggle buddy, though she would do best with a active owner who can exercise her properly. She loves to run hard, then she loves her nap even more!

She is currently in a foster home with small children, she does get pretty excited at times and might knock them over but we are working on that part as well. Her current foster dogs siblings include a Chihuahua, a Pit Bull, and a very old German Shepherd. She does well with all of them, even though they can be cranky and not want to play with her.

Adopting a pet is a life long commitment, we take our adoptions very seriously. Betty is safe in a foster home, so we are looking for the right home for her, not the first applicant.

If you think your family could be the right fit, please send a E-Mail to JKLBATY37185@yahoo.com to request an adoption application. Our Mission
I have several years experience in animal rescue, and took some time off to start and raise my family. Recently the need for more rescues has become very apparent, so I have decided to open again, though on a much smaller scale, and without attachment to any group. We have uncountable stray and unwanted animals all acros...
