Betty's Story

Meet Betty! She is a 2-year-old large and lovely girl weighing around 65 lbs who is ready to find a home to call her own. She came to us after her previous owners left her with someone who was unable to care for her, and she has been patiently waiting since February 14th, 2026 for her second chance.

Betty is a very social and engaging girl with lots of personality and a big zest for life. She enjoys interacting with people and may already know simple cues like “sit,” showing she’s eager to learn and connect with her humans. She is highly food motivated, which makes her an excellent candidate for continued training and positive reinforcement in her future home.

With her energetic nature, Betty will thrive in a home that can provide structure, activity, and plenty of enrichment. She may do best in a home with older children, and we ask that all children and family members meet her prior to adoption to ensure a great match for everyone.

Betty would likely do best as the only dog in the home so she can soak up all the attention she deserves. If adopters do wish to introduce her to another dog, a meet and greet here at the shelter is required to help ensure a positive pairing. She would also benefit from a slow, proper introduction to any cats in the home. Due to her enthusiasm and energy, she may do best with caution around small animals.

Betty’s bright personality, affectionate nature, and eagerness to learn make her a wonderful candidate for a committed adopter ready to help her shine. With guidance, patience, and continued training in the home, she has all the potential to become a deeply loyal and loving companion.

Betty is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. If you’re interested in meeting Betty or learning more, please reach out to an adoption counselor by phone at (517) 626-6060 or email at adoptions@adoptlansing.org.
