Bettina's Story
Location- Greenbay
Adoption fee- $350

At approximately 11⁄2 years old, Bettina is a beautiful female German Shepherd mix( we believe she is mixed with Belgian malinois) with a heart that's growing bigger every day. Known to her foster family as Beana or Bean, this sweet girl came to rescue from Texas with very little prior human interaction. Because of that, the world can still feel like a big, scary place—but don't let that fool you. Since arriving in foster care, she's made incredible progress and continues to blossom with patience, consistency, and love.

Bettina is looking for a family that understands that many everyday things are still new to her. She'll need adopters who are willing to help her continue building confidence at her own pace. A secure fenced yard or careful leash management is a must, especially during her first month in a new home while she learns that she's safe and loved.

Like most young dogs, Bettina has plenty of playful energy and a curious streak! She loves toys—particularly taking them apart—and if a shoe, blanket, or remote control is left within reach, she may decide it's her newest chew toy. Consider yourself warned!

When she's feeling overwhelmed or uncertain, Bettina finds comfort in her kennel. Her crate is her safe space, and she'll need continued access to one as she adjusts to a new home.

The good news? She's already house-trained, does great with kids, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and even does well with cats. She listens well and wants to please, although distractions can occasionally get the better of her.

Bettina can be protective of her kennel, particularly around food when the family cat gets a little too close to her space. Her future family should be willing to continue managing and working on these behaviors appropriately.

Beneath her timid exterior is a loyal, loving companion just waiting for someone to show her that the world isn't so scary after all. If you have patience, understanding, and a soft spot for underdogs, Bettina may be the missing piece your family has been searching for.

Bettina isn't looking for perfection—she's looking for someone willing to grow with her. Could that be you?
