Betsy Ross's Story

Betsy Ross entered Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. as a stray, and sadly, she wasn't claimed. The shelter reached out for a safe exit for this little girl, and we welcomed her as a Frosted Face on July 3rd. With her arrival just before Independence Day, "Betsy Ross" felt like the perfect name!

At an estimated 11 years old and weighing just over 8 pounds, Betsy Ross is a tiny sweetheart with a big heart. Since the end of July, Betsy has been enjoying the comfort of a foster home, where she's been showered with love, patience, and care, and she's proving what a wonderful little companion she can be.

Betsy has very limited vision, so she can startle easily and does best with gentle, predictable interactions. Once she gets her bearings, though, she settles right in and has quickly learned the important things around the house, including where to go when she needs to potty and where to find her water bowl.

Her foster mom says Betsy is incredibly quiet. In fact, they've never heard her bark! She's so tiny and peaceful that you may occasionally need to check where she is to make sure she isn't quietly underfoot.

Betsy is also a wonderful little doggie companion. She gets along beautifully with her foster family's dogs- both big and small - and has happily joined them at mealtime. She has a healthy appetite, and she'll even take her pills when they're tucked into a tasty bite of food.

When it's time to relax, Betsy knows exactly what she likes. She quickly picked her favorite dog bed and loves nothing more than curling up there for a cozy nap. She also rides wonderfully in the car and reportedly falls sound asleep during the ride.

And when it comes to house manners, Betsy is doing wonderfully! She has had no accidents in the house and will use potty pads overnight or when her foster family is away.

Betsy may be a senior, but she has so much love to give. She's looking for a loving, patient forever home where she can feel safe, comfortable, and cherished.

If you're looking for a quiet, gentle little companion who loves naps, gets along with other dogs, and simply wants to be loved, Betsy Ross may be the one for you!

To meet Betsy Ross, please email:
placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
