Betsy's Story

Betsy is a 1-year-old, 39lb Sato Mix with a heart as sweet as can be! Having spent her early life as a street dog in Puerto Rico, new things can feel overwhelming for this little girl, so she needs someone willing to give her time and patience she deserves. Once she feels safe, Betsy is affectionate and will happily reward your time with lots of kisses! She is Heartworm positive and will need to remain calm during treatment, along with being the only dog in her home for now, but she’ll get the best treatment here at Vogel Veterinary Hospital until she’s cleared to zoom around and play with dogs. Betsy may need a little extra time to find her confidence, but watching her blossom will be so worth it.

Monmouth County SPCA's Adoption Policy
Potential adopters are welcome to visit our public adoption floor. If they see a pet they are interested in, they fill out a survey on-site and then meet with an adoption counselor. The adoption counselor goes over the pet's information and if deemed an appropriate match, the adopter meets the pet. If all goes well, the pet can be taken home same day if medically cleared.
