Bessie's Story
Bessie is a 10 lb mini Poodle mix. She estimated at 4 years old. She was the momma who had pups on New Year’s Eve right after being removed from a hoarding situation. Once her pups found homes, she basically restarted her rehab integrating into a natural home life without the responsibility of pups. Her biggest struggle was kenneling and being left alone from her foster mom. She has come a long ways! She sleeps and eats in her kennel very nicely now. She’s less anxious now in general, but still likes to have her person around. She is potty trained. Just has to be taken out regularly as she won’t go to the door to tell you. She LOVES to snuggle and gives kisses. Will be on your lap for some snuggles any time you sit down. She plays with toys and other dogs, but likes to nip at the dog’s legs like she’s herding them. She would be fine with a dog that doesn’t engage in play, or as an only pet. She loves to run in the fenced yard. She is still skittish in environments outside of the home. She will walk on leash, but still nervous about surroundings on walks, so she’s not real good at walking straight yet.
Bessie will do best having a fenced yard. She could easily be left in a larger kennel during the day for up to 4 hours in the day. She is going to most likely attach to one person in her home, and although she won’t bother kids, she would prefer a home without small children for her comfort. She would not be a good fit for an apartment.
She will be the most loving and attentive pet once she settles in & adjusts to her new home.
