Bertha's Story
Meet Bertha!

Bertha (lighter colored pup) is an owner surrender along with her brother. She was from an accidental breeding of her mother being pure Great Pyrenees and her father being a 60 lbs German Shepherd/Husky mix (born on November 13th, 2025). The owner is a disabled veteran and cannot take care of them so our rescue stepped in to take them. Unfortunately, these pups were very malnourished early on and we believe their growths may be stunted for their breed mixes. They have older siblings from a previous litter who are only about 40 lbs fully grown. We estimate these two to be about 40-60 lbs to be our BEST GUESS (cannot guarantee this).

We are NOT adopting these pups out together as we have already seen signs of littermate syndrome and competing for food and attention.

Bertha is a love bug! This adorable ball of fluff craves attention from anyone in her path. They are in a key socialization phase and can go into a home with kids, cats, and other dogs. We have already started working on crate training with her and she is doing great! She will run in and wait for her treat.

Bertha will be spayed at 6 months but can be adopted now with a spay/neuter addendum. She is up to date on her age appropriate vaccines and is already microchipped.

Please fill out an adoption application at www.adorehouston.org/adoption-application/
