Bernie/Blanton's Story

Bernie/Blanton (chip registered name) has had a bit of a rough time recently. He was found running loose, obviously hungry and underweight! A nice young family took him in, took him to a vet and nursed him back to health. The family decided that he was a bit too much for their young family, so they contacted our rescue!

Bernie is a very friendly dog who listens fairly well. He is estimated to be around 4 years old and currently weighs 140lbs. He knows Sit, Good boy and Bad boy (for when he gets a bit too excited around new dogs). He loves to be called a "Good Boy" and shows it too whoever is working with him. With continued consistent care and discipline, we feel that he will make someone a wonderful cuddle buddy! Big dog experience is a bonus!

Our rescue requires a fenced in yard, home visit and Veterinary references from current/past pets. Our current Vet expenses are $400 and we hope to recuperate those costs. He is current on all vaccines and will not need updates until October 2026 for his Rabies and December 2026 for others that include his 12 month Pro-heart (heartworm prevention) shot.
