While we do not know his full story, we suspect he spent much of his life with very limited opportunities to explore, play, or simply enjoy being part of a family. Despite that, Bernie has remained incredibly sweet, trusting, and eager to love.<br/><br/>Every day he grows a little more confident. One of his favorite moments is greeting his foster dad, where his entire body lights up with enthusiastic tail wags. It is a small thing, but it is wonderful to watch him realize that people can be a source of comfort and happiness.<br/><br/>Bernie recently received a thorough veterinary exam. Overall, he appears to be in good health. He is currently being treated for what appears to be a long-standing ear infection and does have some hearing loss. We are hopeful treatment may improve his hearing, though only time will tell.<br/><br/>So far, Bernie has shown himself to be a calm, affectionate companion who enjoys being close to his people. As he settles into foster care, we are looking forward to learning more about his personality, favorite activities, and ideal home.<br/><br/>Bernie is searching for a patient family that will continue showing him kindness, consistency, and all the love he has missed. Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet.<br/><br/>

<br/>3. The application will open as a PDF and you should have the ability to fill it in from that page. Be sure to complete all fields.
<br/>4. Save the application to your computer, then attach in an email and send to petprojectnc@gmail.com
5. Someone will review your application as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours, and will be in touch with next steps.
