Bernie is an adult dog looking for a forever family. He is a little shy at first, but once he gets to know you, he will become your best friend. Bernie is a very playful dog and enjoys playing with another dog his size. He loves it when you throw a toy for him to run after. He is very smart and loving. He would love to be part of a loving family without younger children, or with active retired persons. <br/><br/>Bernie wants lots of love, to go on hikes or walks, to go for car rides, and to go anywhere he can, as long as it's with you. He craves attention and affection and just wants someone to love. He loves to be scritched around his ears, under his chin, and under his neck. Bernie also likes to cuddle up with his person for petting and love and affection, but on his terms, and he likes to sleep near you on the bed. <br/><br/>Bernie knows how to use a doggie door, is crate-trained and house-trained.
