Benz (Corvallis, OR)'s Story

Benz is an old soul in a puppy’s body! His favorite things in life are food, cuddles, and being close to his people. His energy level is about 80% chill, with occasional bursts of playful puppy energy.

Benz is very interested in meeting other dogs, but he’s a little more cautious when it comes to new humans. He prefers to hang back, quietly observe, and take his time getting comfortable, all while staying close to his trusted people. He’s also met a cat and did a great job keeping a respectful distance.

Benz has mastered the dog door and loves soaking up the sunshine outside. Rain, cold, and anything wet? He’d rather pass! He’s still working on potty training, but he’s making progress and has started letting his foster humans know when he needs to go out by scratching at the door.

Although Benz can nap comfortably in his kennel, his ideal sleeping arrangement involves being as close as possible to his favorite people and furry foster siblings. He sleeps through the night for about eight hours and is happy to catch a few more Zs after a morning potty break.

Fair warning: Benz is a world-class snuggler! If you’re sitting down, he’ll happily curl up in your lap. If you’re lying down, expect him to nuzzle right into your side or tuck himself into your armpit. Personal space is overrated when there are cuddles to be had!

When it comes to food, Benz is an enthusiastic little vacuum cleaner. He’ll eat just about anything, so he currently uses a slow feeder or interactive feeder to help him pace himself. He does have some resource guarding around food with other dogs. He’s comfortable with his foster humans being near his meals, but he can get vocal if his furry foster siblings come too close. He’ll need a family willing to continue working with him on this and to feed him separately from other pets.

Benz would make a wonderful addition to a loving family looking for a sweet, affectionate companion. He may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once you’re in his circle, you’ll have a loyal little shadow who just wants to be loved and is more than happy to return that love tenfold.

If your idea of a perfect day involves sunshine, cozy naps, puppy playtime, and a furry friend who thinks your lap is the best place in the world, Benz might just be your guy!

Benz is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his core vaccines. He is being fostered in Corvallis, OR.

Adoption Process:
- Adoption Application
- Phone Conversation
- Meet & Greet
- Home Visit
- Application Approval
- Adoption Fee & Contract ($525)

Our adoption application is available at pnwcdr.org/adopt.
