Bentley's Story
Meet Bentley, 14-lb all-white miniature schnauzer who is currently being fostered in the Columbus, Ohio area.

Bentley came from a home where his human could no longer take care of him due to health issues. He has vet records from birth through his most recent visit in January. He will be 14 years old in April, but it’s hard to tell sometimes since he is a fan of running around the house and yard! He came to us a little underweight, but his healthy appetite has him being active and learning new things every day. In less than 2 weeks he learned how to jingle the bells on the backdoor to go outside since does need to be let out frequently. So, a family with someone who is home regularly would be best.

Bentley loves spending time in the yard even when it’s cold and snowy, does well in the car, and on a leash. But because of Bentley’s age (and the soreness that comes with it!), he is not a fan of being picked up, and prefers to sleep in a dog bed rather than a human bed. He has no issues jumping onto the couch, but the bed is a little too high. Bentley’s teeth are in good condition and he didn’t need a dental when he came to us. He does have some hearing and vision loss but responds to bells/dings and louder speaking.

Bentley would be best in an adult-only household, as he has his particularities with being picked up (harnesses are the best way for him) and is easily frightened since his hearing isn’t what it used to be. He is fine with other dogs, and untested with cats; but I assume he would do just fine with them. Bentley doesn’t use a crate and roams free when we are away from home.

If you think you could be his human(s), we would love to hear from you! A home visit and vet reference check will be required. Bentley is neutered up-to-date on all vaccinations and exams and does not have any known history of illness or medical needs.

Gets along with other dogs? Yes
Gets along with cats?
