Bentley & Adeline - Foster or Adopter (Bonded Pair)'s Story
152 Days of Waiting… Bentley & Adeline Are Still Hoping Someone Will Choose Them

Location: Alabama

Transport available to many states

Interested? Apply at: www.rthrs.com

Some dogs come into a shelter and leave quickly.
Others wait… and wait… and wait.

Bentley and Adeline have been waiting 152 days — making them the longest residents at a shelter in Alabama. Nearly five months of watching people walk past their kennel. Nearly five months of wondering when it will finally be their turn.

Road to Home Rescue was introduced to this shelter through one of our rescue affiliates, and when we learned about Bentley and Adeline, we couldn’t turn our backs on them.

Bentley is about 1½ years old and weighs 52 lbs. He was found with a chain embedded in his neck, so severe it required surgical removal. Thanks to shelter advocates who refused to give up on him, Bentley is fully healed — but the emotional scars of his past can’t be erased. Despite everything, Bentley is incredibly outgoing and hasn’t met a soul he didn’t love. His heart is big, forgiving, and still full of trust.

Adeline, also about 1½ years old and 50 lbs, has shared a kennel with Bentley this entire time. She’s a bit shy at first, but once she feels safe, she warms up quickly and shows her gentle, loving nature. Bentley gives her confidence, and Adeline gives Bentley comfort. Their bond is undeniable.
While they do not have to be adopted together, our hearts would love nothing more than to see them placed in the same home. If they cannot go together, we are committed to ensuring neither is left behind — they would need to move into foster or forever homes at the same time.

About Bentley & Adeline:
• Dog friendly
• Kid friendly
• Medium energy
• Loving, gentle, and deeply deserving of more than shelter walls

These are the kind of dogs who will thrive in a home — with a person, a couple, or a family — but they are running out of time and hope behind kennel doors.
Please don’t let them enter another new year still waiting.

Let’s get these lovebirds out of the shelter and into the homes they’ve been dreaming of for far too long.

**Transport available for an additional $125 and health certificate an additional $50 for adoptions**
