Did you order a jumbo lap dog? Allow me to be of service! I'm Benny, formally called Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez. Everyone who meets me says the same 3 words: Chill, sweet, and gentle. That's because I'm a 70lb lump of love with a giant head who just wants to make humans happy. My favorite things include squishing humans on the couch, going on leisurely walks, playing tug, sleeping in, and making humans laugh. I also love spending time with my small and medium foster dog sisters and have done well around a 1-year-old child. I'm still learning about my foster cat siblings' boundaries but really want to chase and play with them. My foster mom says I'm a very redirect-able guy when needed who's also pretty quiet. The only people I've barked at were men in uniform, and I think they scared me a little because of my past. Other than that, I'll be sure to show you my dinosaur-like whine that I do for the first few seconds of kennel time. I've heard it sounds pretty pathetic in the cutest way. <br/><br/>Speaking of my past, I was rescued from being euthanized simply for being some sort of pit bull mix. Before that, I was mistreated, used for breeding, and ultimately abandoned. In spite of that, the vet says I'm in good health, and my foster home says I have a fantastic temperament. They've checked for things like resource guarding, food aggression, prey drive, grooming, and interactions with other animals/people. I also walk very well on a leash and listen well off-leash inside and in a fenced yard. My foster mom says she's amazed by my constant smile and that the world is a better place because of dogs like me.
