However, he can be fearful around new people and environments and will need someone willing to give him the time and space needed to acclimate in his new home. He would do best with an experienced dog owner who can help him work on his confidence. <br/><br/>Benny LOVES being outside and going for walks. He enjoys basking in the sun and observing surrounding nature.<br/><br/>In his current foster home, Benny has been around dogs, cats, horses, chickens, and goats, and he's done well with all of them. <br/><br/>In the past, Benny has had mixed feeling about other dogs and cats. We would recommend a dog-on-dog meet-and-greet for potential adopters with resident dogs at home. All introductions should be slow and proper when bringing home new animals. Ask staff for tips!<br/><br/>Benny is housetrained but prefers to walk around a bit before going potty. Potty walks for the win! He has used a kennel in the past but wasn't a fan of being away from his people. Ask staff for kennel training tips!<br/><br/>He is eager to learn and has been enjoying the mental stimulation of training! We recommend he continues basic training classes to help him boost his confidence when out and about. He knows "sit", "place," "leave it," "off," and "down." He is learning "roll over" and has been easy to redirect. Benny also enjoys a good game of "find it"!<br/><br/>Benny loves being around his people, going on car rides, and chewing on bones and stuffies. We think he would do best in a quiet environment with less surrounding stimulus. Come meet this sweetheart today!<br/><br/>*Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee.<br/><br/>** Adoption Ambassador (AA) animals are available for adoption but reside in a TCHS foster home instead of in the shelter. Meet-and-greets are scheduled in a first-come, first-served manner. Adoption holds are NOT accepted on AA animals unless the potential adopter has already met the animal. If you are interested in meeting this AA pet, meet-and-greets may be scheduled by calling 320-252-0896.<br/><br/>**Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals.
