Benny's Story

Benny

Male | Mixed Breed (Breeds NOT confirmed, therefore not confirmed hypoallergenic) | 1Y | 48 lbs

Smart, confident, and full of personality, this handsome guy is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. He's medium energy, which means he loves a good walk or some roughhousing, but he's just as happy curling up with you for a movie night.

He's incredibly goofy and affectionate, a total cuddle bug who bonds closely with his person. He's also very food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. He already knows sit, come, and paw, and he's currently working on lay down and stay.

He's house trained when it comes to peeing and is almost fully there with pooping. With consistency, he should have that mastered within the next few days.

He isn't a huge fan of the crate yet, but he's making progress and does stay in the crate when left home alone. When you're home, he enjoys free range of the house and currently sleeps in bed, where he does great.

On leash, he walks well overall and is improving with training. He doesn't like being forcefully pulled and may try to wiggle free if restrained too hard, but if you call him and give a light tug, he responds really well. He can pull at times and will need continued guidance.

He does have a high prey drive, so he may go after small animals on walks. An adopter should be ready to stay alert and brace when needed.

One big apartment plus: he's very quiet. He hasn't barked, though he may whine a little when he wants something.

If you're looking for a loyal, funny, affectionate dog who can play hard and snuggle harder, he could be your perfect match

You can email Info@lolasrescue.com anytime with questions pertaining to animals in our care.
