Benny's Story

Meet Benny! This sweet 6-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix is as gentle and loving as they come. Benny has a calm, laid-back personality and brings a peaceful presence wherever he goes. He may start out a little shy, but once he feels comfortable, he trots right over with his big brown eyes, ready for pats, snuggles, and a cozy spot next to you—he’ll happily sleep curled up at your side or even upside down, his favorite snoozing position. Benny enjoys the simple joys in life: snacks, quiet time with his favorite people, and relaxed strolls around the yard or neighborhood. He is excellent on leash, walking right beside you with no pulling. He’s also crate trained and settles in without anxiety, making him an easy companion for a variety of homes. In his foster home, Benny has been around many dogs and handles introductions beautifully. He prefers calmer canine friends over energetic, larger dogs but is always polite and gentle. While he hasn’t lived with children yet, his sweet, patient nature suggests he would do well in a variety of homes, including with respectful kids or first-time pet owners.<br/>Benny is house trained and continues to show what a smart, eager-to-please boy he is. He already knows his name and has learned sit and lie down. He has a playful side too and enjoys tennis balls and a gentle game of tug-of-war. He’s also not a big barker and loves a relaxed, low-key environment where he can unwind and feel safe. This cuddly, quiet, affectionate boy weighs around 25lbs and is ready to settle into a forever home. Benny is neutered, current on vaccines, and microchipped. Vets and references will be contacted; If you vet office requires client approve before giving out information, we ask that you contact their office once you submit an application. No animal will ever be adopted to "outside only" homes, as we firmly believe pets have a right to the warmth and safety of the indoors. Some dogs may require a fenced in yard or may not be suitable for an apartment, condo or townhome. A meet and greet will be arranged by a Carolina P.A.W.S. representative. A contract must be signed at the time of the adoption. An adoption fee is required to help defray the cost of the pet's spay /neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any other medical cost. All applicants need to be 21 years of age or older to apply. An applicant must be fully employed and proof of employment may be requested. If you reside in a rental property, we will contact the property owner to confirm that an animal is allowed. Please note: We will occasionally allow adoptions of puppies and kittens that are not spayed/neutered; however, the adopter must bring the animal to our vet for spay/neuter . This date will be scheduled prior to adoption and will be stated on the adoption contract.
