Bennie's Story

Bennie is a beautiful young mixed-breed dog, about a year old and weighing approximately 60–65 pounds. She is believed to be a Labrador Retriever and Shepherd mix, with possible Border Collie, Cattle Dog, or even Malinois influence. Like many rescue dogs, her exact mix is unknown, but her personality is what truly shines.

Bennie is smart, confident, and loves being involved in daily life. She happily rides along on the tractor and riding mower and takes new experiences in stride. She enjoys water, hiking, running, and exploring, making her a great companion for an active household that enjoys outdoor adventures.

She does well with other dogs and enjoys structured play and social time. Bennie is attentive, eager to learn, and responds well to guidance, making her a wonderful candidate for continued training and enrichment. She balances her adventurous side with the ability to settle and relax with her people.

Bennie was dumped at a lake with her brother, Jett, but has grown into a well-mannered, affectionate, and resilient dog. She enjoys affection and connection without being overly demanding and would thrive in a home that appreciates both her intelligence and her loving nature.

Bennie is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or may travel to Pennsylvania and surrounding states for the right home. Out of state adoptions are ALLOWED. We currently adopt to homes located in PA, NY, MD, DE, NJ, MA, CT, RI, OH, NH, OR, WA, SC, and FL. We will also adopt to homes located within 200-250 miles from Amarillo, TX 79101, and may make exceptions on a case-by-case basis for longer distances or other states. We call two personal non-family references (ie. friends, neighbors or co-workers) that are to be listed on the application. If there are any current pets in the home, we will call your Veterinarian as well to ensure all pets are up to date on state required vaccines and are spayed/neutered. Potential adopter must provide basic care for the life of the animal. An adoption contract must be thoroughly read, completed, and signed by the adopter before the adoption is complete. The adoption process could range anywhere from a few hours, up to a week. We do NOT hold dogs/puppies.
