Bennet's Story
Breed: Chihuahua mix
Age: 1 yr. as of 6/5/26
Weight: 10 lbs.
Good with dogs: yes
Good with cats: unsure
Good with kids: unsure
Energy level: medium-low
Good with men/strangers: yes
Hypoallergenic: no

Special home requirements or medical: none

Additional info:

Bennet is a one-year-old, 10-pound sweetheart with big brown eyes, floppy expressive ears, adorable cow-like spots, and a personality that's equal parts playful, curious, and affectionate.

His favorite things in life are being outside, going for walks/hikes, zooming around the backyard, soaking up the sunshine, and spending time with his humans. He loves toys and bully sticks, and he's especially attached to his favorite stuffed bat, which he somehow always manages to track down. He also has a mischievous side, so don't be surprised if an unattended sock mysteriously disappears.

Bennet gets along wonderfully with other dogs both big and small and would thrive in a home with a canine companion. He loves greeting dog friends on walks, playing with his foster sister, and having a buddy by his side.

While he can be a little shy when meeting new people, Bennet warms up quickly with a calm introduction. Once he trusts you, he's incredibly loving and loyal. He'll happily follow you from room to room, curl up beside you on the couch. His favorite place to be is as close to his human as possible.

He's potty trained with a consistent routine (he also knows how to use a doggy door and pee pads), walks nicely on leash, isn't reactive, settles quietly when left alone, and is highly motivated by treats, making him eager to learn.

What makes Bennet especially remarkable is how much he's embraced the world around him. Before coming into rescue, he lived in a hoarding situation and had never experienced many of the simple things dogs enjoy every daywalks, adventures, toys, and one-on-one attention. But instead of being afraid of life, Bennet has approached it with curiosity, resilience, and joy. Every walk feels like an adventure. Every toy is a treasure. Every sunny spot is worth savoring.

His foster family has many nicknames for this special boy - Benny, Benito, Bean. But Bennet is hoping his forever family will call him something even better: Theirs.

If you are not ready to adopt just yet and would like to help in other ways, please consider clicking on the green Sponsor Me button above to help this dog receive the best care we can give.
