BENJI (female)'s Story

Meet Benji! Don’t let the name fool you—this adorable 11-month-old, 40-pound pup is a girl! Benji has just arrived in her foster home, but she’s already making a wonderful first impression. She’s sweet, affectionate, and loves being around people. She can be a little timid when faced with new things or loud noises, but her curiosity and love for exploring are shining through.

Benji loves going for walks and would likely make a fantastic hiking buddy! She’s still working on her leash manners and can be a little squirrelly, with some pulling along the way, but she’s ready to keep learning. She appears to be housebroken, too! We’ve been told that Benji may be afraid of other dogs, although she has shown interest in them while out on walks. We’re still getting to know her and will share more as we learn about her comfort level with canine companions.

Benji has shown some resource guarding around her food and bones, so a home with children ages 10 and older who understand the importance of giving her space while she eats or chews would be best for now. She’s still settling in, but so far, this girl has been a gem! If you’re looking for a loving companion to join you on adventures, explore the great outdoors, and then soak up all the affection you have to give, Benji could be your girl!
