Benji's Story

Meet Benji! This sweet, young pup is looking for his new forever home. Benji is about 6-7 months old and weighs 34lbs. He is going to get a little bigger, but won't be a giant dog. Benji is friendly with other dogs and sweet to all people - although he is timid at first. Give him a moment to warm up, and you'll likely find him crawling in your lap. Benji would do best with someone who is willing to help socialize him to the big, wide, world, and teach him that it doesn't need to be so scary! Benji shines with other dogs around, so a doggy pal would help him blossom! His brother is in a foster home with cats and is perfect with them, so we are assuming Benji may have good experience with cats as well.

He is in a foster home and here is what they report:
"From the first day, he adjusted very quickly to our routine and plays well with my dog, Cilla. He likes to run in zoomie circles in the back yard and he runs with Cilla or just by himself. He plays in the small wading pool on hot or warm days. Cilla goes to the toy bin and digs around and picks a single toy. Benji does the same, and then another and another until he has 6-8 toys and then he lays down and plays with them all! If he doesn't have something okay to chew on, he finds something not okay, so good chew toys are helpful for him. Benji has a hearty appetite and hints that I am not feeding him enough. He is crate trained and sleeps in it through the night. He is playful, energetic and affectionate. He plays with Cilla and/or toys outside but if I sit down, he wants to sit on my lap."

He's fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. He is $185 to bring home!

If you are interested, please call the shelter at (541) 474-5458. You can view more adoptable pets at www.jocoshelter.com/adoptions . Walk-ins are welcome, however we highly recommend calling first to check on availability and location (some animals may be offsite or unavailable). Appointments are recommended to reduce wait times, especially for dogs. Thank you!
