7/4/19-UPDATE! Benji has semi-feral traits. He is very fearful of anything outside and right now is working with a trainer. He would need a home that could provide continued professional training and is very secure. Otherwise he is a wonderful dog and loves being in the home with people and playing with his toys.<br/><br/>5 year old male black & tan coonhound mix. Very sweet but shy. Good with all other animals. Benji was adopted out 4.5 years ago as a puppy in a litter of 9. He was only returned due to changing family situation. He has some semi-feral behaviors like the mother dog and some of the siblings. Presently he is not really wanting to interact with other dogs, not aggressive at all, just ignores and goes the other way. He enjoyed playing with the cat in his previous home. Benji would do best in a quiet home preferably with a capable dog and cats would be great. He will be more secure once he is around another solid dog who will help show him the way and gain some confidence. He is extremely loving and affectionate. He is neutered, up to date, heart worm negative, crate trained, house broken and so very smart and obedient. He is very clingy right now and is afraid of going into the backyard but will go out to use the bathroom, and no accidents.<br/><br/>12/25/19 BENJI is doing well in his foster home. Age is 5.5 years now. He plays well with a small group of compatible dogs and gaining some confidence in his environment.
