Benjamin bonded with Emma

In 2017, we rescued a total of 29 dogs from the end of Franklin St. in Charleston, Ms. A house burnt down and the family moved away, leaving behind a little mama dog named Diamond. She was such a sweet little dog and the people on the street watched over her. Diamond had a couple of litters and then her grown pups had litters of their own. This had grown into quite a problem and a lady reached out to us for help.<br/>When we drove down to Charleston to check this situation out, there were little scruffy dogs everywhere!<br/>They were very unsocialized but one by one, we rescued them all and brought them to our shelter.<br/>The young puppies were easy. We placed them very quickly. Diamond's grown pups were much more challenging because they had never been touched.<br/>Scarlett and Ellie are siblings of Emma and Benjamin. Emma and Benjamin are still at our shelter today. Both of them, still very fearful of strangers which keeps most people from even considering them.<br/><br/>Even though they are shy, they are some our volunteers favorite pups. Both beautiful souls that we cherish.
