Belmont's Story

Meet Belmont! This gentle guy has recently entered foster care with Every Last One Rescue.

Belmont is what I can only describe as a gentle giant. In just a few days, he's made it very clear—this boy is something special. He's all full-body wiggles and gentle lean-ins for pets, with the sweetest, happiest energy. Despite his size, Belmont is an absolute gentleman. He walks beautifully on leash without pulling, and is completely neutral passing both people and dogs. There's no stranger danger here—he's more than happy to accept love from anyone willing to give it.

Inside the home, Belmont settled almost immediately, calmly entertaining himself with toys and equally seeking out attention from his people. He strikes that perfect balance of being affectionate and independent—you get the sense he'd be happy to shadow you around all day, but also totally capable of doing his own thing. Belmont is fully potty trained with no accidents so far and has been fantastic in the crate, sleeping through the night and settling quickly when left alone for up to 8 hours. He already knows “sit” and “down” and shows a playful, puppy-like side occasionally using his mouth to gently explore the world, which—combined with his demeanor—makes us think he may be closer to 2 y/o rather than 4.

We suspect Belmont to be a purebred Leonberger (awaiting DNA results for confirmation), and with that comes a need for regular grooming. Belmont has been incredibly tolerant with handling, bathing, and brushing—even falling asleep during his blow dry—which speaks volumes about his easygoing nature.

Belmont truly feels like one of those rare, “how did you end up here?” dogs. He's gentle, confident, affectionate, and just so easy to be around. If you're looking for a big, beautiful companion who can go from playful fetch sessions to couch snuggles without missing a beat, Belmont might be your perfect match
