Bella

Meet our very beautiful Bella.  She is a sweet little girl who has recently arrived to one of our foster homes.  Bella is vaccinated, spayed and house trained.  She is a very smart girl and you can tell that she has had some training at some point but was mixed with some harsh discipline.  Bella has a few guarded habits we are helping her to let go of and in one week only after arriving at the new foster home, she has moved forward in amazing strides.<br/><br/>Some observations that are definitely on the positive with her is that she is fantastic with cats, not a problem at all.  She learns incredibly fast, is very intelligent and is very responsive to energies and commands.  She's actually a great walker, pulls a little bit but will listen and stay with you and is not reactive to dogs or other animals on leash.  She understands incredibly fast, what it is you want, she understands communication quite quickly and will do what it is you are asking.  She is not food guarded at all, as a matter of fact she needs gentle encouragement to have her eat her meal and affirmation that it's okay.  Sometimes her foster will gently hand feed her a little at a time to get started then let her eat it on her own but recently now, she is enjoying it without help.<br/><br/>Some observations where Bella will need support is she has some habits that have been developed through fear.  Her environment before she arrived into rescue was a more harsh environment so she can be skittish for the first few minutes when she meets a new human but is not aggressive, only scared.  Quick and big movements of someones body, hands and legs will scare her and she has a fear of walking canes, especially if they are making a sound hitting the floor. She bonds super fast with people and can show some possessiveness of those she bonds with and her space so you just have to be consistent at calming her and let her know shes safe and that there's no need to protect, and she will settle quite quickly.  She will be fine with other dogs but proper introductions should be done.<br/><br/>Bella is definitely a true Golden Retriever through and through.  She is a sweet cuddle bunny and loves to greet you with her whole body wiggle and tail wiggles and gift offerings of toys :)  Her brilliant Golden Retriever personality is really shining through every day, more and more since she has been at her fosters.  All Bella wants is to know she's safe and good and she will move mountains for you.<br/><br/>Because Bella has some fear issues, a home with young children is not recommended.  An ideal home for beautiful Bella is a home that is wanting to love her like crazy and take her on hikes and lot's of walks.  She currently is living with another dog, three cats and four human adults and gets along with them all just fine.  She really wants to be a part of a family, really wants to please and has an incredible amount of love to give.<br/><br/>Please contact us through the website here if you'd like to find out more about Bella or are interested in adopting.
