Bella's Story
Meet Beautiful Bella
Mastiff mix | 8 years old | 110 lbs

Bella has been part of The Ranch family since May 2024, but her journey with us began long before that. In June 2023, she wandered onto a family’s farm just outside Topeka in heartbreaking condition—covered in ticks, dangerously underweight, and with worn-down teeth. The family cared for her and reached out to The Ranch in August. When we finally had space for her in May, Bella officially joined us—and we’re so glad she did.

Over the past year, Bella has gained healthy weight, received much-needed medical care, and won the hearts of every volunteer here. She enjoys belly rubs, knows commands like “sit” and “shake,” and lights up when working on a treat puzzle. She also loves car rides—just make sure the windows are rolled up enough to keep her safe!

That said, Bella needs a very specific type of home to thrive.

Bella is a big girl with a big personality and can be challenging in certain settings. She is not dog-friendly, with the rare exception of one buddy (literally named Buddy!). She has shown barrier reactivity and leash pulling and can be destructive when bored. Her ideal home will need structure, supervision, and someone who understands large-breed behavior and management.

Bella’s Perfect Home Includes:

- Being the only pet (unless adopted with her bestie, Buddy!)
- A large, fenced-in yard
- A home where someone is present most of the time to offer love and attention
- No dog parks or off-leash adventures
- Supervised car rides only (windows rolled up—she’s curious and strong!)
- Older children only, due to her size and strength

Bella requires ongoing care for her eyes and ears, with treatments that may change seasonally. She doesn’t ask for much—just a safe space, a consistent routine, and someone who will love her unconditionally, even on the challenging days.

We know the right home is out there for Bella. If you think you might be her perfect match, come visit her during open hours on Saturdays from 10a to 2p, or apply to adopt or foster her.

Foster Bella: https://bit.ly/FosterIFR
Adopt Bella: https://bit.ly/AdoptIFR

Bella is waiting—for love, for a FURever home, for you.
