She is current with her vaccines and preventatives. Neutered.
Adoption fee: $375 through OPH

Bella is originally from SC and was an owner surrender when she was welcomed into the OPH rescue April 2025. The only reason given was "neighbor issues." She has been with me since 5/13 and during that time has settled in amazingly well given quite a few transitions in her young life.

Bella is young and still quite the puppy. She's playful, energetic, and loves to meet and play with other dogs. She is super-loving and cuddly and thrives with lots of attention, walks, and playing. She is very treat-motivated, potty-trained and crate-trained, I do not currently crate her when I leave the house, but do contain her to one area of the home - she does great, no issues. I live in a very urban area so we have to take walks and there is lots going on all the time, she can be reactive, but has responded very well to the "settle" and "leave it" commands and shows good capacity to regulate her enthusiasm.

She is extremely smart and has done amazing with training. We've worked on potty training - she likes to have one spot that is her potty spot, we walk that area until she goes and then head off on our walk. She whimpers/barks and stands by the door when needs to go out. She wants to meet every person/dog on the walk and will pull for dogs and dark. We use "settle" and stand and wait till she is calm to continue. Her leash behavior is markedly improved, but she can still pull when excited. She would do very well with a yard to run in, but is flexible.

There were barking and mouthing behaviors at first, but a spray water bottle fixed all that, she does not like the spray bottle. She is a chewer, but if toys are around she'll get those. Keep lots of chewy toys and marrow bones around and she's happy. She does bark when new people enter my home, she is protective, but no biting. If I sit with her and the new person and we get to her level it settles down quickly. She warms to people very fast. I have not had the chance to see her much with kids, but she likes them on walks, just gets apprehensive when multiple people approach her at once.
