Beignet "Benny" is in Maine's Story
Beignet or "Benny" is just under two years old (estimated dob 4/2024) and weighs around 60lbs. He is a happy, healthy boy who loves to romp and play.

Benny bonds to people pretty quickly and will look to you for guidance, and is a sponge when information gathering. His instincts and hearing are incredible, so he senses everything around him, He is a cool dog who is really fun and a joy to be around. Benny is looking for a quiet, adult home with a predictable routine.

He's doing well on leash, but walks with a lot of stimuli seem to be scary for him. He romps around and plays in a fenced yard and is pretty good at entertaining himself, and he's always up for a reward so he happily checks in with his people often. Benny is house and crate trained, knows most of his cues. He has been known to chew soft items to keep himself busy so providing safe alternatives is a must. He hasn't had the benefit of a lot of structure and guidance in his early life so he's learning as he goes along, he just needs a little assurance and a lot of bum scratches!

Benny's backstory: Benny was found in an abandoned park when he was 3 months old. He had such a severe case of demodex that the only fur visible was a dusting of white on his head. Our Louisiana rescue partner thought it looked like the powdered sugar of their beloved Louisiana beignets, and the name stuck. Benny's fur has grown in and he's absolutely gorgeous. He does still have some scarring localized to his face from this previous condition but his skin scrapes come back clean and it's just cosmetic. He eats a limited ingredient diet and may benefit from using sunscreen while outdoors since he is prone to getting pink.

PLEASE NOTE - We will check your veterinary reference, to ensure that current and prior dogs have a history of being kept up to date on rabies and distemper,
Current pets must by spayed/neutered.

Adoption fees cover age specific vaccinations, martingale collar, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichia test, worming and transport fees.

Adoption fees:
Through 6 months of age $450;
7 months to through 5 years $400;
6 years and under 9 years $325: bonded pairs are $500;
9 years and older $250: bonded pairs are $300

This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning Pending Adoption.
