Beethoven's Story

Weighing in at a whopping 170lbs, Beethoven's heart is almost as big as his head! He is 6 years and 10 months old, and this sweet, mellow boy has already overcome so much. When he first arrived, it was clear he had been neglected. His nails were extremely overgrown and his paws were painfully infected. Despite it all, Beethoven never lost his gentle spirit. With proper care and time to heal, he’s feeling so much better and is now ready for a fresh start!

Beethoven is the definition of a gentle giant: affectionate, easygoing, and happiest when he’s lounging near his people. He’s generally good on leash and enjoys calm strolls, but with his size and strength, if he decides he’s heading in a certain direction… well, he’s heading there. His future family should be comfortable handling a large, powerful dog and leading him with confidence. Luckily, he is very treat motivated so with a little bit of positive reinforcement he is easily guided. Beethoven would do best in a home with a securely fenced backyard, where he can safely explore and enjoy the outdoors. Due to his age and size, his exercise needs are low. He loves naps, treats, and rolling around in the grass.

Now safe and in good health, he is ready to enjoy the love, comfort, and stability he deserves. After everything he’s been through, Beethoven is more than ready for a family who will cherish his golden years! Think Beethoven might be your perfect match?
