Bedford's Story
Bedford is a 3-year-old, 71-pound German Shepherd with the sort of magnificent gravitas that makes you feel slightly underdressed in your own house.

He is intelligent, handsome, deeply loyal, and has been doing seriously impressive work with trainer KC at Canis Integrated Behavior Solutions. Bedford knows commands, learns quickly, and has made enormous progress. Training support will even be available to his adopter, which is essentially getting the deluxe Bedford package with technical support included.

Bedford can be reserved when meeting someone new. He is not handing out emotional VIP passes in the parking lot. But earn his trust and the transformation is spectacular. This is a dog who bonds. Not "nice to see you, human." More "I have selected you from the population and our alliance is now geopolitically significant."

He has done beautifully with the large dogs he's met. Cats, meanwhile, have received an unequivocal rejection letter. Bedford would thrive in an adult, single-person home, preferably with a big yard and someone confident who appreciates the extraordinary relationship you can have with a brilliant working breed.

Because Bedford isn't looking to collect acquaintances.

He wants his person.

And somewhere out there is one human who is going to realize that being chosen as the favorite person of 71 pounds of German Shepherd is an absolutely insane flex.

PLEASE READ BELOW:

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs:

https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt

Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily.
