Beckham's Story
About Beckham
Meet Beckham, a handsome 60 lbs Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his smile. At approximately 3 years old, Beckham is past the puppy stage and ready to find the forever home he's been waiting for.

After spending time as a stray, it's clear Beckham was once deeply loved and spent a lot of time with his person. He is incredibly people-oriented and wants nothing more than to be by your side. Whether you're relaxing on the couch, working around the house, going for a walk, or heading out on a road trip,

Beckham is happiest when he's part of whatever you're doing. He rides calmly in the car, is fully house-trained, knows his basic commands, walks nicely on leash, and is eager to learn even more. With a moderate energy level, Beckham enjoys walks, playtime, and exploring, but he's just as happy settling in for a quiet evening and some well-earned belly rubs.

Training & Support
Beckham is currently working through some separation anxiety and will need a family committed to helping him build confidence when left alone. Beckham also displays mild resource guarding around his food bowl, so he benefits from having his space respected during mealtimes. Fortunately, Beckham is eager to please, highly food-motivated, and loves working with his people. His willingness to learn makes him an excellent candidate for continued training and success in his new home.

Ideal Home
Beckham would thrive in a loving home that can provide companionship and consistency. Beckham is a social dog who enjoys the company of other dogs and has also shown positive behaviours around cats. Due to the resource guarding around food we think he would be best as a solo dog but likely can have dog friends. An adult only home preffered due to Beckhams issues around food.

This loyal boy has already known what it means to be someone's beloved companion. Now he's looking for a second chance, a family to love, adventures to share, and a place where he can finally feel safe, secure, and home for good.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ready to Apply?

If you would like to meet Beckham, please download an application from our website at:

vancouver.ca/adoption-form

Then, email your complete application to: animal.shelter@vancouver.ca

If your application is approved, we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
All adult dogs at Animal Services have veterinary health checks, and are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and defleaed (if necessary) before going to their new homes.
Children:No
Cats: Yes
Dogs: Best as solo dog in home
Training Needs: Separation Anxiety
Adoption Fee: $391

If you live in the City of Vancouver, you will also need to purchase a dog licence.

For more information on our adoption process, go to vancouver.ca/adop
