Beckett's Story

PLAYFUL, AFFECTIONATE PUP. If you’re looking for a dog that can quickly make himself at home, Beckett may be your guy. This one-year-old beagle/Jack Russell terrier mix takes a minute to assess new situations, then quickly tries to integrate himself and make friends with whoever is around. He’s an energetic, playful dog that craves the company of another dog or a human. He enjoys a good run and a wrestle, then settles in on your lap or at your feet. His only quirk: while he would definitely appreciate a home with another dog, he doesn’t like big dogs. (The shelter we pulled him from alerted us to this, and it seems to be true here at Save the Strays.) So we’re looking for an adopter that’s either home a lot or who has another dog that’s 25 lbs. or under to keep him company. Beckett has formed a close friendship with another dog here – Peri, a 10-month-old lab mix pup that’s just slightly larger than him. We would definitely reduce adoption fees for both dogs if they were to go as a pair. Fenced yard required! Both Beckett and Peri enjoy the outdoors and sometimes don’t answer the call to come in, so you can’t just let them out in an unfenced area. Beckett is good on leash, crate- and house-trained, neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. Adoption fee: $300. For more information or an application, email Save the Strays.
